Where to Stay in Sonoma: The Flamingo Resort a Unique Boutique Hotel
Looking for a unique boutique hotel in Sonoma – look no further!
I recently was invited to stay at the newly remodeled Flamingo Resort in Santa Rosa (part of Sonoma County) and it was an absolute pleasure!
The Flamingo Resort is an old school style resort turned mid modern dream! I spent three nights enjoying the pool, their restaurant “Lazeaway Club“, the spa and meeting all the people behind the remodel.
If you are planning a trip to Sonoma County, this is a great option for people of all ages, families, singles, and couples!
Not to mention the Flamingo Resort is dog friendly! Roo had a blast!
I love swimming and always prefer to stay somewhere with a pool (as you may have noticed in my Carmel and other travel posts).
The Flamingo Resort has a massive pool — a huge shallow area and deep end. The pool is surrounded by lush trees and a sprawling lounge area.
They also have a hot tub and a bar/restaurant, “Wild Bird” where you can easily order drinks and meals poolside.
The restaurant – “Lazeaway Club”, if you want to sit down to dine, is adjacent to the pool and off the lobby.
The entryway and the lobby feature high architectural ceilings and wall panels — which makes everything feel very open.
The spa is technically a separate entity but if you are staying at the resort you can use the amenities — I had a message and I think it has been at least 2-3 years since I had one! I heard great things about the facials as well.
Even though the resort is located just about an hour and a half from where I live, I felt like I was in another world and fully on vacation.
There are many wineries and other towns that are popular close by like Sebastopol, Sonoma, Glen Ellen and more. So those are easy day trips to head out and explore.
Although, staying a weekend and not leaving the resort is highly recommend as they offer so many activities.
Here is my photo diary of the weekend — start planning your stay now!
