So, NYC weather has been less than desirable thus far and each day I am realizing how lucky us Californians have it!  When I lived in NYC, I don’t remember the weather being this freezing/temperamental, but word on the icy street here is that this has been one of the worst winters yet.  I must say that I would have been completely unprepared for this weather if my mom hadn’t suggested and by suggested, I mean forced me to bring one of her vintage furs with me to NYC.   I guess mother does know best.

Not only has this fur served as a great shield from the cold but it’s super stylish.  It goes without saying that winter in NYC and fur go hand in hand.  So to add to my fur, I wore a simple LBD, a blazer, a scarf, gloves and a hat: all necessary items to stay warm!  I also had to break out the tights, being back in this freezing weather. While living in NYC, I always wore tights in the winter, but now in CA, tights are a forgotten accessory.  I find that the best tights are the ones made by Spanx (and not just for their built in shaping!) but because they’re thicker than most and really keep you warm and don’t snag or run easily.  If you’re in the market for a luxury pair of tights click on the image below!  I also added my gold bib necklace to this outfit; and since this exact necklace no longer exist, I am suggesting some similar pieces from NYC’s own Bauble Bar! (I’ll be visiting their showroom this week so be sure to check in for pictures!)  Follow me on Twitter and Instagram for more of my NYC adventures!
