Staud: Style Blogger’s Review

I started wearing Staud a few years ago – I discovered the brand on Shopbop (because of course that’s where I do most of my shopping) and I have consistently worn the brand’s dresses, purses and shoes since. They take very classic silhouettes and make them modern but not too showy.

Staud does run small so I would size up – the most recent dress I bought from them I had to size up two sizes. Normal dresses I can wear an 8-10 but in Staud I always get a 10, sometimes even a 12.

(Staud shoes also run about a half size small as well.)

My most recent Staud acquisition was this maroon pleather dress that fits me so well. It is sexy, cool and perfect for an evening out. I also receive so many compliments on it – so it was a fan favorite for sure!

With spring and summer approaching it’s the perfect time to add some of Staud’s adorable off the shoulder “Elio” sun dresses (I wore this orange one in Napa – see photo below – for a girl’s weekend of wine tasting!). It comes in several colors.

Staud keeps a lot of the same styles (like the “Elio Dress”) and will add a new detail like a spaghetti strap rather than an off the shoulder or make a dress a midi length versus an above the knee length and that keeps loyalist (like myself!) coming back because I know I like the style and it will fit. It’s a brilliant model for designing and producing collections.

Here is how I styled some of my Staud dresses:

From left to fight:

The maroon faux dress has been very popular with my followers and in real life – I have people stopping me several times when I wear this dress and complimenting me on it.

I styled the dress two ways – the first being without anything under it – the dress has halter straps and criss cross straps: which provide a great detail (and they are removable). So if you wear the dress as is – it’s very sexy and there is no need to and anything else.

Here’s another example of how I style it to go from day to night:

The second way – because I was going to brunch and wanted to make the dress look a little more conservative and stay warm – I added a bodysuit underneath and the camel colored turtle neck bodysuit was absolutely perfect to complete the look.

The third photo is also a popular dress (still in stock and under $200!) that I get a lot of questions about: the colors are split down the middle and the slinky fabric is lightweight and stretches. This dress works really well for transitional months – and can easily be paired with a leather jacket or just on its own, during a warm day. The abstract purse is also Staud – this is one my go to, going out purse.

The fourth photo is their tried and true “Elio Dress” – it comes in the short length and the midi length. It’s the perfect spring/summer dress for brunch, wine tasting, or out with friends.

I encourage you to try some Staud pieces yourself as you will love the brand! I adore their purses as well.
