Easy Tutorial for Necklace Layering

Looking for an easy tutorial for necklace layering?

I absolutely love the way several layered necklaces look – it’s a great easy day to day look for wearing simple jewelry.

You don’t have to just layer your clothes this fall: you can also layer your necklaces!

Necklace layering is a great way to add some dimension to a look and also to get creative with your accessories.

Here is an easy tutorial for necklace layering.

easy tutorial on necklace layering

1.  The first necklace to layer is the longest.

That necklace acts as the anchor to the layering sequence and preferably you want it to carry some weight.

I personally like the necklace’s chain to be thin and dainty with some kind of stone or pendant on the end.  In this layered look, my longest necklace has a lot of length and carries a tear-drop chrysoprase stone.

2.  The second necklace should fall in the center of your upper chest.

This necklace can have a pendant with a little less weight–I chose mine to be dainty with a thin snake piece hanging, which adds to the layering effect.

3.  The third necklace should fall at the center of your collarbone.

It can be a circular, square, or triangular piece but something small.

The layering length shouldn’t just vary but the weight and heaviness of each pendant should correlate to the layer it’s on.  (I.e. the longest necklace has the heavier pendant or stone.)

The first necklace to go on is the longest (1), the second is the medium length piece (2), and the third is the shortest in length (3).  Once you’ve layered all three, you have your final look (4).

Try these guidelines with your own necklaces and give your entire look an added dimension!
