Introducing: His Royal Highness Prince George of Cambridge!

Prince George of Cambridge

What an exciting few days it has been for the Royal family and for the public!

Starting with the news that Kate was in labor, to finding out it’s a boy, to William and Kate bringing the little Prince out on the hospital steps to announce him to the world and most recently to the revealing of his name: His Royal Highness Prince George Alexander Louis of Cambridge!

This baby has about every name any Prince in history has ever had but that seems to be the protocol when you’re born a prince! (I’m guessing the second child will have something a little more cheeky and fresh.)  However, since he is the third in line to the throne, this name is quite fitting and pays homage to Queen Elizabeth’s father: George IV.

The Duke and Duchess have already whisked their new family off to Kate’s parents house in Bucklebury (I love how these English names are so hearty sounding!) where the royal baby will spend some time.

However, Prince George could not leave London without a proper visit from his great-grandmother: the Queen of England.

Apparently she visited the Duke and Duchess and their new baby at their cottage on the Kensington Palace grounds-and I do believe the Queen may or may not have had some say in the naming of the baby.  Other visitors included uncle Prince Harry (William’s brother) and aunt Pippa Middleton (Kate’s sister).

Yesterday, when Will and Kate brought Prince George out to meet the public on the steps of the hospital, they seemed so balanced and happy and even spoke to the press.  William joked of his son’s ‘tardiness’ referring to being born after his due date, and that he already has more hair than him.  Kate told the press that it was an emotional moment relating the experience to one any mother has.

They really are such a sweet couple and bring so much joy in a time where life seems to be hard on many.

Very touching also was that Will and Kate both wore baby blue with Kate wearing a polka dot Jenny Packham dress, which some believe pay homage to Princess Diana as she too wore a polka dot dress when announcing William to the world.

Can’t wait to see more and more of Prince George!
