5 Places to Travel this Summer in the World
Looking to plan a fun vacation this summer – not sure where to go?
This travel guide will give you ideas for 5 places to this summer in the world – some of the best vacation destinations in Europe and the US!
As I scroll through IG and see so many people traveling, for the first time, to places like Tokyo, Greece, Italy, Spain (hello Ibiza – this is a must add to your summer vacation list!), etc…it gets me nostalgic for my trips there.
Have you ever dreamed of hanging in the bougie Hamptons of New York or riding on a catamaran in the gorgeous teal blue waters off the coast of Ibizia? Well dream no further because this can be a reality!
Since I have already been to some of the big hotspots that people are traveling to now, I thought I’d share 5 places to travel to this summer!
The Hamptons
When I lived in NYC, going to the Hamptons was always the dream.
Before Bravo’s hit show: Summer House put a spotlight on the Hamptons, the girl’s from Sex and the City were traveling there by Jitney (still a super fun and old school way to get there — I highly recommend it!).
After living in NYC for a few years, I finally got into the Hamptons groove and even developed a hack for going to the Hamptons on a budget.
Italy
I went to Italy in 2016 (although it wasn’t my first time there) I absolutely fell in love all over again.
The first time I had travelled there (in 2006) it was before the age of Instagram, so going again and documenting it properly was awesome.
Let’s be real: Italy is basically already an Instagram filter. See my video diary of Florence, Rome, and Venice here!
Spain
Spain is a very special country to me: my mom is from there and I have family there as well — you may have heard of the famous tomato fight the last Wednesday of August every year: La Tomatina? My family lives in the town where it takes place: BuΓ±ol — I even attended myself about 10 years ago. I also studied abroad in Valencia, Spain and two of my best friends to this day are from that experience.
Tokyo
I would say save this trip for the end of summer or fall — as it is very hot there in the summer.
Tokyo is somewhere I never imagined I would have ventured to but in 2016 I took a leap of faith and booked a 10 day solo trip there.
It was well worth it! If you are thinking of planning a trip there: here are “6 Things to Know Before you Visit Tokyo.”
Buenos Aires
I visited Buenos Aires for a friend’s wedding in 2012 — so I hadn’t even started my blog yet, so my trip is only well documented in personal photos on Facebook (gasp — was that even a thing once?!).
In any event, it is an amazing city, very European: great steak, empanadas, leather and wonderful people.
Stay in the Palermo district if you go but make sure to venture into all the different neighborhoods.
Where would you travel this summer if you could go anywhere?
