Resplendent in Red
Since Kate Middleton so elegantly rocked red on her royal tour in New Zealand, I thought I would take the color into my own hands and do it MSL style. I got this little red dress about a month ago and wasn’t certain how I felt about it but it really has grown on me and I finally figured out the best way to style it: keep it simple!
I have tried it on a million different ways: with a belt, with a blazer, with matching red shoes and every way seemed too gaudy and overdone. When it comes to a statement color, I have realized, you should just let it do the work and speak for itself! Since this Rag & Bone gem is that great classic red color and has a unique texture it really doesn’t need any extra accessories-those only created distractions. Once I started styling the dress in its most simplistic form, I realized how much I do like this dress and just how flattering it can be! So instead of matching red stilettos-I opted for a neutral beige wedge by Stuart Weitzman (and I had my pair long before the Duchess ; ) ) some classic jewelry, a red tote, and my trusty spring hat. Since this happened to be my Easter day outfit, I picked up some fresh yellow calla lilies that made this look absolutely splendid.
Enjoy!
