Holiday Gift Ideas

holiday gift ideas

How is everyone spending these holidays weeks? Still in need of some holiday gift ideas (and if you're still looking for something to wear this holiday season check out this post!)? Well before we dive into all the great presents and gifts there are out there I’m recapping my Sunday! Sunday was my boyfriend’s birthday and I surprised him by getting our Christmas tree (his tradition is to get it on his bday every year) and having a little tree decorating breakfast with his brother and seven year old nephew, which was a really fun way to spend the morning. Sidebar: let me just say: if you go to a Christmas tree lot and there is a man standing there grabbing his private areas several times and making untoward gestures while you’re trying to…

Holiday Wear for 2017

holidays

It's that time of the year again, where holiday parties are upon us (I already went to one this past weekend!) and you're most likely looking for the best holiday wear for 2017.  I've already picked up some great pieces for the holidays and I have a few go to online retailers that I am very loyal to for various reasons: Fast Shipping Asos and Shopbop have two day shipping: Asos you can pay $19.99 for a year of two day shipping (totally worth it!).  Shopbop you can link with your Amazon Prime account and get 2 day free shipping but even without that they offer 3 day free shipping!  Nordstrom is fairly fast as well but they don't offer a specific program. Free Returns I won't shop somewhere that doesn't offer free returns --…

Venice Beach

Venice Beach nights -- what a treat.  As much as I miss having a crisp morning with a hot coffee, during the holiday season in NYC,  romping around Venice Beach, in November, in a slip dress, barefoot, is sort of unbeatable.  Venice is seriously adorable from the main drag of Abbot Kinney with its cluster of shops and colors to the beach boardwalk, there is so much to do and see. While I was there I met up with blogger pal Laurie Ferarro of The Rue Collective while she was out in LA for a visit from freezing NYC and we shopped on Abbot Kinney, drank coffee, and walked the palm tree lined streets. Also...you may have noticed that the slip dress in the below photos has clearly become my favorite dress (I tend…

Los Angeles Living So Far

Los Angeles

Hi Everyone – sorry for the delay in posting, as you know I moved from New York City to Los Angeles, so it was a bit of a task and I haven’t had a lot of time to just sit down and blog! If you follow me on Instagram, you probably already know that I made it to LA safely and my life has certainly changed quite a bit in just a few short weeks.  I went from having: a full time job living in my own studio apartment having a long distance relationship adhering to my own schedule            to living in a two bedroom apartment with my no longer long distance boyfriend having a dog – yes, you may have also seen sweet Huckleberry on my Instagram (I'm…

Goodbye to All That: New York City

New York City

A few years ago, I picked up a book called Goodbye to All That, a collection of vignettes where several authors write stories about their love affairs with New York City and the inevitable reasons they finally left the city.  As you may have guessed, this post is my ode to New York City and an introduction into the next chapter of my life. I've said good bye to NYC, twice now, so it's safe to say that if NYC and I were in a relationship on Facebook it would say: it's complicated.  NYC is an undoubtedly alluring city: its energy is a force to be reckoned with all on its own.  Carrie Bradshaw used to say New York City was her date and I must attest it has been my date many times during my NYC tenure. Even…
