1. Leather Jacket and a Mid-calf Length Coat

A leather coat is one of the must have fall pieces for sure.

It’s a staple everyone should have in their wardrobe (men too!). It’s the best for transitional weather as it can be left open (aesthetically, you shouldn’t zip up the coat) and it’s so stylish. Leather in and of itself is a great looking material and with the right finishes can be an outstanding piece. I have had mine for many years — they are an investment piece that you can use for years to come.

This fall: mid-calf length coats have been catching my attention. There are so many fabulous ones from lightweight to heavier materials. Depending on where you live: you can chose the best fabric.

2. Oversized Sweater

An oversized sweater pairs really well with a fitted pair of jeans, a loose or tight skirt, and leather (many great faux ones out there) leggings.

Plus it keeps you warm when it’s breezy.

3. Boots

I always get a new pair of fall boots every few years — like the leather coat: they are usually an investment.

I prefer a well made boot that can last a few years, rather than one that might only be good for one season. Although, the one season boots can be great for creating new and fresh looks.

3. Hats

A fall hat is just as important as a summer hat. A fall hat is usually in the caramel, tan grey or black color families and has a smaller brim. I love the way a hat in the fall can bring together a look.

4. Loafers

Fall is the perfect time to wear loafers: the weather isn’t too cold yet, so you can wear a shoe that is lighter and doesn’t completely cover your foot. Loafers look great with a cropped pant.

6. Leggings and Tights

Leggings are the best and easiest way to dress for fall – with so many stylish options now they can be super glam and cute or easily dressed down.
