The Best Midsummer Dresses for a Traditional Celebration
Celebrating Midsummer this year – this style guide has the best midsummer dresses for a traditional celebration!
I am going to be experiencing my first Midsummer this year in Sweden and I am beyond excited for this whimsical celebration that commemorates the longest day of the year and the summer solstice.
I will be celebrating on the Friday the 23rd of June – and midsummer is on June 24th. Since I have never celebrated I only know a bit about the celebration tangentially because one of my best friends lives in Sweden (and I will also be there for her wedding – which is the day before!).
From what I know of midsummer: it’s about drinking boxed wine, wearing white or floral dresses and making flower crowns to wear during the celebration.
Besides, that there is also a lot of delicious food such as cheeses, pickled herring (a traditional Swedish dish!), salads, meats and more!
I am sure there is more to it but I want to wait to experience it myself before adding any more detail.
So far I have been scouring retailers looking for the perfect midsummer dress and I finally found one – make sure to follow me on Instagram to see what I wear in real time!
I found that the brand with an amazing assortment of midsummer dresses is: ASTR the Label. (I linked the dress I am wearing on the left below.)
I have heard that many people in the US (and around the world) like to have their own midsummer celebrations as well: so I thought I would suggest some great options for this celebration!
