London for the Weekend

Forever 21 crocheted high neck dress London for the Weekend

“Kids: Big Ben, Parliament!”

I can’t think about London without thinking of Chevy Chase going round and round, in circles, as he tirelessly tries to exit the roundabout in National Lampoons European Vacation.  That movie is always classic and always relevant.

It’s especially relevant now because I am off to London for the weekend!

I have been doing copious amounts of research to make sure I make stops at notable London hot spots and also find some new places to explore.

My voracious appetite for all things London is just enhanced with the curiosity and awe I have always had for the British monarchy.  I just finished listening to an Amazon Audible book called William and Harry by Kate Nicholl, watching The Royals documentary on Netflix, and just finished the movie Diana, starring Naomi Watts (which was surprisingly good!).   To top it off Queen Elizabeth II was just named the UK’s longest reigning royal, Prince Harry just turned 31, and Princess Charlotte is still a newborn—could it be a better time to be traveling to London?!

London for the Weekend, Style Guide:

Aside from the places I’ll visit, I am looking forward to having many sartorial moments–because London is just as haughty as NYC when it comes to fashion (the accent does make them more posh however).

Below I have listed some pieces I’ll be bringing with me to London that will make the perfect fall statement with a regal twist.

 I am in love with this precious crocheted high-neck dress, that is pictured above.  Styled with a high bun–it’s the perfect regal piece.

London is quite chilly year round (reminds me of San Francisco) so a sharp trench is a must when packing for this city.

//

A trip to London wouldn’t be right without a McQ Alexander McQueen scarf.

//

Bringing a little Cali girl with me to London with this Lauren Conrad lace trim top and floral blouse.

//

Booties and high-top sneakers will be the best way to get around London in a hurry (I’ve got a lot to see without much time!).

Make sure to check back with a full travel guide on my trip next week!

(Is it weird that while writing this post, I had a British accent?)
