Food Paradise on the Travel Channel
Ok Guys: so I’m just going to abandon my humble ways and say: Adam and I are famous. That’s right, we made our debut on the Travel Channel on the food show: Food Paradise. Sorry if I start to get a little bit of a big head but with this kind of start power…it’s kind of difficult. Ha! So, we’re not famous but we are giddy over the fact that we got to see our little clip from when we filmed for a food show at SOL in Newport Beach.
“Fame is that you?” — me
Adam and I were on a blogger trip to Newport Beach (which can read all about in this blog post ) and it was such a great weekend — made new friends, ate great food, road a boat, and experienced the town! Since it was such a fun weekend — I never imagined there could have been one more (surprise) activity that would completely cap off the weekend!
So once we finished the weekend tour, we had plans to meet friends in Orange County for brunch. They suggested we meet at SOL Cocina. When we arrived, I noticed there was a film crew setting up and it was clear they were filming some kind of show (my guess was Real Housewives of Orange County!) but as it turns out it was a food show called Food Paradise that airs on the Travel Channel. Clearly, I see the camera crew and start getting inquisitive (thinking: is this finally my time to be a star!) and asked them if they were looking for people to be on the show. Sure enough, a few minutes later the producer came to our table and asked us if we wanted to participate in the show by tasting some of the signature tacos and commenting on their flavor. (Apparently, SOL’s cuisine is known as the Baja of California.)
I was a shoo-in from the beginning: basically since I saw the cameras were filming I wanted to be involved…Adam was quick to follow and we convinced our friend Brad to get on board! They mic’ed us up and prepped us a bit: gave us ideas of the best language to use (but don’t you worry, all our lines are our own!).
This was a totally unexpected and super fun experience…now without further ado: the clip of us critiquing the Baja of California below:
