A Stay at the Kimpton Palomar Phoenix

In late December I travelled (with my family) to Phoenix, Arizona for none other than the very prestigious Cheez-It bowl (I’m sure you’re all aware of it…right?!) In any case, my parents’ alma mater and their favorite college football team: Cal (aka UC Berkeley) played in it. (Fun fact: Cal also happens to be the alma mater of Jared Goff: QB to the Los Angeles Rams and Super Bowl LIII bound! I bet you didn’t know that! The more you know.

In any case, upon travelling to Phoenix to see Cal play in the bowl game, I was lucky enough to be hosted by the Kimpton Hotel Palomar! It was the perfect place to stay to enjoy the game and the city of Phoenix as well.

Here are some highlights from the Kimpton hotel:

It’s centrally located in downtown Phoenix.

Just a block away from where the Arizona Diamondbacks play (also the site of the bowl game).

Gorgeous mountain range views from the room.

Features a wine and flatbread Happy Hour each evening in the lobby.

Dog friendly: travel with your pets is made easy with the hotel’s laid back policy!

The Blue Hound Kitchen and Cocktails is a great restaurant onsite — see the delicious burger I had for lunch below!

There is a rooftop pool for warmer days!

The rooms were spacious and comfortable and I was even treated to chocolate cake and a meat and cheese plate in my room — the perfect treat! Overall, it was a lovely and accommodating stay at the Kimpton Palomar in Phoenix.
