10 Things to Do in Los Angeles (Part 2)
I bet you were just on the edge of your seat waiting for the Things to Do in LA (Part 2) after reading: Things to Do in LA (Part 1)– weren’t you? (Well, I like to imagine you were.) Wait no longer! My list is complete — although as my tenure in Los Angeles continues I will no doubt have more suggestions on things to do and even narrow it down by category: food, travel, shop, etc.
Here is 10 Things to Do in LA (Part 2):
Visit Malibu
Malibu is a national treasure — with its scenic views and beach chic establishments, there is so much to do. If you’ve ever watched an episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, you’ll notice that, even though they don’t live in Malibu, they most certainly spend a lot of time there. Specifically at Nobu Malibu, which is definitely worth a visit when you come to LA (see the delectable sushi below).
Of all the Nobu locations, the ocean front dining cannot be resisted and you can even go down to the beach for a swim. (Pro tip: keep your eyes open for celebrities, the place is crawling with them!)

For a more casual alternative to Nobu Malibu try Paradise Cove — one of my BF’s favorite LA places and the perfect place to dine on fresh seafood right on the sand. Also, whenever I think of Paradise Cove it reminds me of when Dylan invited Kelly were there for one last night together (before Brenda got back from Paris). DRAMA. (Yes, all things in my life, do in fact, relate back to 90210.)
Visit the Spa! Burke Williams Day Spa is a prominent California based spa with several locations in the LA, San Francisco, and Orange County.
The Santa Monica location has a balcony to relax and they offer bananas (and other fruits) which is such a treat in between treatments — I love that potassium! I received the Spa Style Facial and left with glowing skin! The spa’s world-class amenities including a sauna, steam room, and vanity area truly top off the Burke Williams experience and leave you feeling on cloud 9! (It’s also a great Mother’s Day Gift!)
Shop on Melrose
Melrose has great stores to do a day of shopping (and snacking along the way). I would recommend also stopping by Melrose Place where there are several high end boutiques and you can get a coffee or boba tea from the famous Alfred Coffee — “But First, Coffee.”

See a show at The Comedy Store
Catching a show at the Comedy Store can prove to be a very eventful night. On any given night, big names drop into the famous place — it’s owned by Pauley Shore’s mom and he has been stopping in more than usual — so if you’re into a good Encino Man joke and just general 90’s nostalgia, a show like that is worth it alone. Even if the comedian isn’t a celebrity per se, the comics are always funny and entertaining.
Eats: Joan’s on Third and Terroni
Joan’s on Third is a LA institution — you order at the counter and then find a table to eat as its deli and a restaurant at the same time. It can get a little hectic on the weekends but it is worth it! The french omelette and breakfast burrito are favorites of mine. Joan is a real woman that many customers and employees talk kindly of — which makes the establishments feel very homey. (Side note — I recently had lunch there — brunch is over by 2pm on the weekend, the horror! Anyways, I had the fried chicken sandwich and my life is not changed.)

For a delicious Italian meal — try Terroni. Now known as Meghan Markle’s favorite restaurant in Toronto (per the documentation in her Vanity Fair feature article a few months back) Terroni has amazing pizzas, pasta and the tastiest Aperol spritz — which remind me my trip to Italy a few summers ago — drinking those is like water there.
So what do you think? What will you do first?
(More posts like these as I continue to explore LA — I only like to recommend activities that I have actually done!)
