When I’m not in the mood to wear my hair down, this style is a great way to change up my look without having to commit to an up-do. The braid, combined with the styling of the hair around the face, really achieves a whimsical look that can go from day-to-night!
Here is a step by step guide to creating the easiest loose side braid!
Steps 1-4:
Gather your products. I love to use a little hairspray and some Brillantine styling cream (both by Bumble and Bumble). I softly message the product into the hair, so that when I begin braiding the hair will stick and hold.
Steps 4-8:
Separate your hair into three pieces and begin to braid normally. Once you have the braid done, pull out a piece of the hair and as you pull the strand of hair down, push the braid up, so it starts to become chunky (see bottom right image below).
Steps: 9-10:
Once you have pushed the braid up and created a chunky look, start to smooth it out and pull the hair to make it a bit uneven. Once you’ve done this, secure the braid and you’ve got a loose side braid, that looks easy, fresh, and adorable!
