London for the Weekend

Forever 21 crocheted high neck dress travel

“Kids: Big Ben, Parliament!” I can’t think about London without thinking of Chevy Chase going round and round, in circles, as he tirelessly tries to exit the roundabout in National Lampoons European Vacation.  That movie is always classic and always relevant. It's especially relevant now because I am off to London for the weekend! I have been doing copious amounts of research to make sure I make stops at notable London hot spots and also find some new places to explore. My voracious appetite for all things London is just enhanced with the curiosity and awe I have always had for the British monarchy.  I just finished listening to an Amazon Audible book called William and Harry by Kate Nicholl, watching The Royals documentary on Netflix, and just finished the movie Diana, starring…

Whitney Museum

what to do in nyc whitney museum

Have you heard!?  Someone named Whitney just moved into the Meatpacking district in NYC and everyone is flocking to see her...well it's not exactly a she...it's more of an it.  Although, Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney was a woman who was a great advocate for American artists and took it upon herself to create a space to house the art she wanted to see. So I (and my parents) had to see the latest sensation to enter the meatpacking since Samantha did on Sex and the City.  The Whitney Museum is a fabulous place: it's modern, stylistic, and spacious.  It's more of an all day destination rather than a museum.  Yes, each floor houses American art from different decades, but it seems that most people go for the experience.  The museum is asymmetrical with many levels and balconies…

NYC Street Scenes

But First Coffee   Hi All!  Pardon the delay in my posting--I have been working on remodeling the website, so my content hasn't been as frequent, but believe me it will be worth the wait!  In the meantime, I thought I'd share some NYC street scenes from my weekend.  My parents are in town and it has presented us with some fun opportunities to eat in the new restaurants and explore new places. The weekend began with some lovely cocktails Saturday evening, then continued the next morning at brunch.  I found a Lower East Side gem via Instagram called Dudley's (see food pics above) and it was seriously delicious.  What you see in the full table picture (from right to left) is a hamburger with fries with an aioli dipping sauce (get extra fries!), avocado toast…

Miami Vacation

Miami Vaction

I'm back in NYC and besides the humidity: Miami and NYC Could not be more opposite cities. Miami struck me as a cross Between Los Angeles and Las Vegas. It has a city adjacent to a gorgeous beach - like LA, but it Also has every imaginable trendy and swanky hotel, to hang in your bathing suit all day, with Basically all your needs under one roof. All along South Beach hotels are vibrant with loud music, imbibing, and People that are just genuinely trying to have a good time! Ha! What I loved most about Miami were the beautiful colors: the ocean is crystal blue/teal and every evening the sky Becomes a gorgeous mix of blue, orange, pink, and yellow. It really is That picturesque sunset you see on the post cards. Luckily…

Hitting the Miami Streets // Salió a la calle de Miami

I'm getting ready for a trip to Miami this weekend and I am very excited!  Since I'm from the West Coast, Miami isn't exactly in our backyard: Tahoe and Hawaii are more our speed.  So a visit to Manhattan's sixth borough is long overdue!  Plus, I can do a refresher course on my Spanish speaking skills. One of the best parts of travelling (at least as a style blogger) is preparing your outfits.  I have picked up a few new pieces and I am excited to mix and match looks and wear a bathing suit for the first time this season!  Every summer I get a couple of new suits and alternate them in with my old ones from the previous year.  Last year, I bought a blue Melissa Odabash suit and this year--I bought a somewhat similar…
