50’s Style J. Crew Jumpsuit

Black J. Crew Jumpsuit

"Tell me about it: Stud" Just call me "Sandy!" in this 50's style J. Crew jumpsuit! I am feeling very Grease in this J. Crew black jumpsuit paired with a vintage jean jacket and neck scarf.  Funnily enough, this outfit wasn't intended to be a 50's look but once I started adding on the jacket and accessories -- it was hard for it not to be! This jumpsuit has become a very versatile piece for me: since it's black it matches with everything and it can be formal or casual as it's a mid length jumpsuit.  I wore it to a rehearsal dinner recently, with just simple heels and jewelry and another time added this jean jacket and a pop of color to wear it casually around town. The Levi's vintage jean jacket is…

Lessons from my Early Thirties

lessons from my thirties

Last Thursday was my 33rd birthday and it was truly a memorable one – actually one of the best I've had in a long time and I am including my birthday weekend in that summation (everyone celebrates their birthday through the weekend right?!). Apparently, the number 33 is a "Master Number," which carries quite a bit of weight.  You're meant to expand your consciousness and to live to a greater ideal.  With that said, every year does have me wondering aka expanding my consciousness and looking for more meaning in my life.   And since I am so wise at the ripe age of 33 (ha!), I thought I would expound upon some lessons from my early thirties. {Photos by Sandy Leshner} Having it all is a figment of the imagination Having it all is…

Goodbye 2017, Hello 2018

Well it's the last day of 2017 and it's been such an incredible year that brought so many exciting opportunities and life changes!  It's hard to believe that I started the year living in New York City and I am now ending the year, living a new life in Los Angeles (with a man and a pup!).  (Although, I'm currently ringing in the New Year in St. Louis as you may have seen on my Instagram!) As I begin 2018 in my home state of California, I am very excited to pursue more personal and professional endeavors. As I close out this short New Year's post, I want to thank all the My Stiletto Life readers for all the support and kind words I have seen all year on the blog itself and on…

Snow at The Grove in Los Angeles

snow at the grove

Have you seen the snow at The Grove?! Since moving to Los Angeles from NYC, there are some obvious differences between the cities: the main difference being the weather.  My current Instagram feed is filled with adorable pictures of people playing in the snow filled streets of NYC.  (They're throwing snowballs and buying Christmas trees with a fresh snowfall on them.)  During the holidays, I reminisce about all the fun wintry and holiday activities in NYC: like visiting 30 Rock, seeing The Rockettes or grabbing hot chocolate and shopping in Soho.  This is the time of year that I miss the cold weather and truly miss living in NYC. Los Angeles certainly has winter activities to partake in but there isn't snow -- real snow that is but there is fake snow!  The snow…

Biscuits and Gravy Recipe

biscuits and gravy recipe

As I mentioned in "Holiday Gift Ideas" post last week -- I had a little holiday gathering last Sunday and made a delicious holiday meal of biscuits and gravy.  This dish happens to be a memorable childhood recipe I used to make with a friend of mine and it has always stuck with me (probably because it's super easy to make and when it comes to cooking I like fast and tasty!).    Since it's such a cozy and simple meal to have over the holidays I thought I'd share the delicious biscuits and gravy recipe with you as you may want to have this as part of your holiday festivities. Biscuits and Gravy Recipe Ingredients: Biscuits I use the premade Pillsbury Doughboy flaky ones.  Because as mentioned, I like to keep things fast and…
