My Stiletto Bites

My Stiletto Bites

Taking pictures of food seems to have become second nature to me so I decided to dedicate an entire Instagram feed just to my food photos!  My food Instagram is: My Stiletto Bites and I like to say: my stilettos don't bite but I do! Here's a peek at some of the recent ones I've posted: Some homemade banana bread courtesy of my roomie! Leftover pizza turned into breakfast with an egg topped on top! When I visited Montreal, I tried a couple different kinds of poutine and I sampled this one with some beer! The sushi burrito is the latest craze in fancy fast food -- I picked this one up at the Urban Space market near Grand Central. Make sure to follow along, so you can see all my food pictures in real-time: @mystilettobites!

Stop in to Speedy Romeo

Speedy Romeo

I had a particularly delicious experience last week eating at Speedy Romeo. You may know of its flagship restaurant in Brooklyn’s Clinton Hill which is now one of a few hip eateries in the bustling neighborhood. It also happens to be Ray’s coffee shop on Girls where Lena Dunham’s character: Hannah, has been known to throw a tantrum (or two), roll around naked on the seating, and compare herself to perfection (self-proclaimed of course!).  So if you are remembering the no lids controversy of this season then you know Ray’s! Speedy Romeo is known for its unique pizza (however it does boast a menu filled with non-pizza items as well!).  Just a couple weeks ago they opened their doors in the Lower East Side (a much more desirable location for the Manhattanites!) and it was game-on for moi! Speedy Romeo owners Todd…

Best Brunch in NYC

Brunch: an activity that is heralded world-wide!  I have yet to meet anyone who doesn't enjoy and partake in this gluttonous activity.  Aside from distracting from productivity, brunch has many other qualities I admire:  Day drinking is widely accepted during brunch: Blood Mary's, Mimosas, and champagne are the perfect brunch  accouterments.  Brunch always provides the best Instagram opportunities.  (And we know it's all about the Instagram: follow my brunch trials and  tribulations: @mystilettolife.) Monday-Friday I reserve my eating to smaller portions and just one option (within a meal).  During a weekend or day-off brunch however, I find it completely acceptable to order the avo toast, an eggy dish, and a side of waffles or pancakes.  Let's be real: you need that sweet and savory mix! I like to compare brunch to Passover: on this day(s)…

Best Iced Coffee in NYC

Looking for the best iced coffee in NYC? Well look no further because I've rounded up the best and my personal favorites NYC has to offer. Iced coffee from hip West Village spot: The Elk.  Photo by Lydia Hudgens. Above is the iced coffee that puts them all to shame: La Colombe's iced coffee with a shot of espresso on top. This will get you going! Let’s talk coffee in NYC.  Iced coffee seems to be more of an accessory these days more than anything else.  Sure it gives me a jolt in the morning—but does it match my outfit?  From branding to style to taste—these coffee shops are raising the bar in the coffee culture and they are all some of my favorite stops in the city. 1.     La Colombe This Philly original…
