NYFW (and Life?!) Survival Guide

NYFW

Surviving NYFW is a tricky task! So, every year, I develop a new plan of attack. In this plan, I include every tip, trick, and tool I might need to hop from show-to-show and party-to-party like a boss. (Wearing: Lovers and Friends Dress, See by Chloe shoes -- since we're moving into fall try these booties, Marc by Marc Jacobs purse.) Flats I’m a stiletto gal, but I always carry a pair of sandals or flats in my purse. They are key for making it through the day without having to amputate a foot! Luckily, fancier flat sandals and flatforms are trending this year, which means one can be fashionable and comfortable (gasp!) at the same time. However, since it’s the best time of the year to show off that expensive pair of Louboutins I’ve never worn—and…

#TryDry with Dove and Simply Stylist

Dove Dry Spray Antiperspirant

I admit it: I smell! Ok, I don’t smell all the time—but a woman on-the-go can only be perfect 23 hours of the day right? But what about that last hour!? Well, Simply Stylist has introduced the latest and greatest deodorant from Dove and has given me the opportunity to partner with them. Dove’s new Dry Spray Antiperspirant allows us “perfect” ladies to be on the go and gives you a fresh smell and feel for up to 48 hours! It’s easy to carry in your purse and has several different fragrances so you can pick the one that suits you the best. As seasons and wardrobes change: having an antiperspirant that goes on instantly dry is key. (No more wet stains on your clothes or hanging your arms open waiting for them to dry—you know you’ve done that!) Dove Dry…

AOL Beauty Awards

AOL Beauty Awards

A couple of weeks ago I was asked to be a judge for the first ever AOL Beauty Awards and I'm excited to share my favorite products. I sampled some amazing beauty products from Laura Geller, Kat Von D (ya the same one that took Sandra Bullock's man!), Smashbox, Benefit Cosmetics, Marc Jacobs and more.  AOL couldn't have rounded up better items: all of them provided great coverage, color, and shimmer.  I created my look (seen below) with some of the product from the contest and I am breaking down my look, my favorite products, AOL's Beauty Award winners and more! Step 1: Primer: I used Colorescience primer as the first step in putting on my face make-up: it evens out the skin so that the foundation goes on smoothly. Step 2: I then used Bobbi…

The braid, combined with the styling of the hair around the face, really achieves a whimsical look that can go from day-to-night! Follow this easy tutorial for the loveliest side braid! Steps 1-4: Gather your products. I love to use a little hairspray and some Brillantine styling cream (both by Bumble and Bumble).  I softly message the product into the hair, so…

A Beautifying Weekend

White dress Banana Republic

I spent Saturday afternoon getting beautified with my favorite hair colorist and stylist at Butterfly Studios and then I ventured over to Benefit in Soho to get my brows done!  (Any girl can attest—a day of hair and brows is always a good day!) At Benefit, I was able to try the new Realsies “Killer Color” lash hugging gel eye liner in dark green—which I loved.  The touch of green is not super noticeable but really brings out the color in your eyes.  It’s an edgy alternative to the black.  The Realsies eyeliner in general is a make-up must have.  It’s easy to apply, goes on smoothly and has lasting power. Hope you like the snaps from my weekend and below are some links to where you can buy my summer attire! JavaScript is currently disabled in this browser. Reactivate…
