Instagram Round-up plus NYFW

Chinese New Year

It's here again, that hellish, err I mean heavenly and divine time of year where the city is packed with fashionistas running (in stilettos) from show to show and party to party.  Believe me, I am not excluding myself from my acerbic assessment of NYFW, I too am one of those "fashionistas!"  I even wrote about surviving this epic week back in September.  NYFW is great, so many parties, people to connect with and lots of cool street style but I can unequivocally say that NYFW in the winter is actually a little bit hellish.  Primarily, because of the awful freezing cold weather.  This this around we are expecting a snow storm coming in late tonight and continuing all day tomorrow which also happens to be the first day of fashion week.  OY.  So with…

Still thinking over that Halloween costume? Well I have some fun ideas that are only a few clicks away. Why not try a Disney character? Snow White – I was her last year and all you need to add to this costume is an apple (from the kitchen) and a pair of red stilettos (from your closet!). Dorothy Mary Poppins Go on trend: be political! Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump – there should be a slew of those this year! Thnk outside the box: Bill Clinton and Loretta Lynch as a duo. Ivanka and her brothers. Nov. 8th ballot (filled in with your vote). Gary Johnson – What is Aleppo? Debbie Wasserman Schultz. Sean Hannity Movie Characters: Geena Davis or Tom Hanks from A League of Their own. Jennifer Grey from Dirty Dancing. Tom…

Shana Tova and My Next Adventure!

adventure

Shana Tova and happy 5777!  It happens to be Rosh Hashanah, which is the Jewish new year: an amazing time to reflect on the past year and think forward to the next.  The rabbi leading my congregation today asked: "Who is ready to leave 5776 behind and start 5777?!"  I found this question to be more complicated than it appeared.  Many people were eager to move forward from this past year, some were indifferent and others weren't interested in moving forward. It's a complicated question for sure and there is not a simple answer.  The rabbi asked more in jest than anything else but it got me thinking: was I ready for the next year?  I must say I'm excited to move on but satisfied with my past year.  I fulfilled a lot of…

NYFW (and Life?!) Survival Guide

NYFW

Surviving NYFW is a tricky task! So, every year, I develop a new plan of attack. In this plan, I include every tip, trick, and tool I might need to hop from show-to-show and party-to-party like a boss. (Wearing: Lovers and Friends Dress, See by Chloe shoes -- since we're moving into fall try these booties, Marc by Marc Jacobs purse.) Flats I’m a stiletto gal, but I always carry a pair of sandals or flats in my purse. They are key for making it through the day without having to amputate a foot! Luckily, fancier flat sandals and flatforms are trending this year, which means one can be fashionable and comfortable (gasp!) at the same time. However, since it’s the best time of the year to show off that expensive pair of Louboutins I’ve never worn—and…
